POSITION

Bujanovac is a little town situated on the 360th km of the highway from Belgrade to Macedonia and Greece, on the south of Serbia and the town is also administrative, cultural, economic and educational center of the Municipality. By its territory, the Municipality of Bujanovac belongs to the District of Pcinja. The average mountain height is 400m. The main river flows in Bujanovac are: Moravica, The South Morava, Pcinja, Terrnoc River, Krsevac and Breznica River.


The town of Bujanovac is situated in the middle of the communicational ways, near the road and railroad highways, on the international corridor E-10 which connects Belgrade-Skopje-Thessaloniki-Athens. The big international airports are near this Municipality – Nish 163 km, Skopje 70 km and Pristine 105 km and a border for Macedonia – Cukarka 23 km.

According to the census in 2002 there are 12.011 inhabitants in town and 31.291 inhabitants of the various national structures in the villages. There are around 10.183 people from Bujanovac living abroad, making a total of 53.485 inhabitants of Bujanovac.
